Necessary Acquisition Covet

I love a pop of color, from turquoise Fu Dog bookends to a grass green cashmere throw casually yet so perfectly tossed across the back of your sofa. It's these touches, these details and attention to the extra-ordinary that bring a room to life.

My newest must have is this vintage Hermes tray table. Absolutely perfect for that daring pop of color and beyond chic at the same time. The classic Hermes orange is a stand
out piece to feature in your living room - although I'm thinking bedside table. A vase filled with fresh flowers, a sterling clock resting upon a stack of books, a lacquered tortoise shell box and Vie Luxe candle will round out this look to perfection.

Now, if only I could find it - vintage and Hermes make this a nearly impossible task. But no worries darlings - it will soon enough be mine.

RIP Lee "Alexander" McQueen

What a shocking and devastating loss to the fashion world and those who knew and loved him. A visionary and an icon - his work was unparalleled, cutting edge and brilliant. A true genius. Never one to follow trends - it was he who inspired so many others.

Rest in Peace Lee - you will be missed beyond your comprehension. x

It's been too long

It's been ages, hasn't it darlings. Air kisses.

Well I've been scouring the globe for beautiful trinkets for you to swoon over and will be filling these pages very very soon with more luxe accessories and fashion than you can stand.

That being said, don't fret - even I have noticed a substantial downturn in all that is glamorous - so I've singled out numerous items for my 'On The Cheap Covet' posts as well.

Stay tuned - I'll be back shortly with some fabulous little numbers.

Bejeweled Covet

Some girls need the refinement of uptown while others indulge their chic downtown side. Showcasing the natural beauty of an uncut diamond, this 'Diamond in the Rough' solitaire isn't for the uptown girl who needs the sparkle and gleam of a picture perfect diamond, but for the downtown girl who is confident, captivating and sophisticated. Sophisticated without having to look like everyone else.

Because really ladies, Tiffany is just so ordinary.

The solitaire and equally fabulous stacking rings are available at www.neimanmarcus.com

Country Club Covet

Looking fabulous while lounging poolside is a summer necessity, just like SPF, an Hermes towel and a handsome attentive cabana boy. Roberto Cavalli's "Giraffe Clasp Maillot" with ruching detail and a deadly sexy plunging V will have those in your midst diving for the deep end to cool off.

Beauty Covet

It's those rare but fortuitous occasions when you meet a designer who brings forth a product that you just fall in love with. This happened to me yesterday at Bergdorf Goodman's: Mecca for all who love fashion, design and decadence, Bergdorf's is a bastion, a retreat into luxury. I'd like to introduce you to a new luxury at Bergdorf's, Edward Bess - eye and lip color savant who's new collection left me a little weak in the knees. He has an intution when it comes to color and can pick perfection for you. He showed me several choices, but we decided upon his Deep Shine Lip Gloss in "Dark Blossom" after he confided for me to always wear a dark lip. I completely agree and am heading back to BG tomorrow for more.

A mere 22 years old but with the sophistication, style and determination of someone who's been in the business for years, Edward Bess is someone to watch.

A decadent and deserving treat would be his "Lip Wardrobe Collection", the sleek black lacquer case which chicly houses 5 of his lip glosses and 10 of his lipsticks.

Available at www.edwardbess.com or at Bergdorf Goodman in New York.

Retro Glamour Covet

There's nothing quite like recalling the glamour of past decades when selecting a perfect new piece to add to your wardrobe. J. Crew has nearly perfected the art of recalling that past with their jeweled tunics, skinny capri's, cashmere twin-sets, and bold patterned pairings. Not to disapppoint, their Double-Strand Jeweled-Flower Bracelet brings to mind chic poolside cocktail parties of the 60's.

While I'm partial to the bracelet in 'fresh guava', I can also see wearing it in the 'bleached aqua' - either would be a sublime choice.
